Celebrating 45 Years of Married Bliss

At the Church

Mom and Dad with children -- Canyon Woods Country Club

It's Christmas at the Canyon Woods Country Club Lobby

My Parents-in-law celebrated their 45th Wedding Anniversary last Saturday, November 17. It is a major milestone and one that merits a grand celebration. The whole family spent a grand weekend at the Canyon Woods Resort in Tagaytay. The celebration started off with a Holy Mass sponsored by the family. The children played major roles in the mass, one was lector, and the others, readers. The celebrants and the apos were the offerors. The priest congratulated Mom and Dad, and so did the whole community. It was a very touching moment for the family. The priest also said a very special blessing at the end of the Mass for Mom and Dad, and the entire family.

We then went to the Club House for a sumptuous dinner. After dinner, we spent the whole night bonding over snacks and drinks at the house we rented for the weekend.

We wish our Parents more blessings in the coming years, and we congratulate them for a very happy union all these years. They are indeed an inspiration for us children-- that we treasure our partners and our families, and work hard for harmony in our homes. To Mom and Dad, we love you!

Hey Reg, congratulations to your in-laws! Share naman their best tips for a long and happy married life.

By the way, whose fabulous idea was it to have the family wear red tops and blue jeans?

From what I see, the key really is patience and communication and of course a lot of love! 45th year pala is symbolized by sapphire. Marami namang colors ang sapphire and so we chose red. For the Chinese di ba it's supposed to bring good fortune.

It's easy to see that you and E are someday going to reach your 45th just as happily. Congrats to your family!

Thanks Stacey! Hopefully E and I will learn the secrets of a happy marriage from our parents. But I am lucky to have E -- sobrang patient and understanding:-) Thanks for dropping by, and commenting!

Congratulations to E and his parents! It's really rare to see a couple reach their 45th or 50th together. It looks like the event was well-planned too!
