Our friend B treated us to a weekend stay at the Mandarin Oriental Manila last weekend. It was the perfect escape to a rather stressful workweek. E and I enjoyed being lazy, just lying around , reading and watching TV. My greatest complaint is why do 5-star hotels charge for wifi access? Anyway, we went all out by having room service for breakfast. The best thing about the stay is not having to tidy up, clean and prepare breakfast! Feeling rich and famous for the weekend. Thanks so much, B!

How bongga naman your friend B! I think I will also make friends with him/her ;^). Glad you got some 5-star pampering.
Re wifi usage fee -- everytime I encounter, I ask the front desk to take it off my bill. Has always worked so far.
Hi D! Talaga, pwede yun? They should just keep it off the bill period. Weird because from my experience the smaller, cheaper hotels have free wifi and the 5star hotels charge for it!
Agree with you, Reg, and in fact think wifi should be free everywhere.
I'd like to be friends with B too! E's pic on the bed made me wonder if you followed in the footsteps of HK and KH?

Hi SC! Haha, SEEECRET!
Hahaha, i can relate with your complaint. Even The Palazzo at Las Vegas charges for wifi access. Over naman na talaga. When I thought that most places in the US would have free wifi access.
Sweet D, what's your justification for asking them to take it off your bill, assuming you indeed used their wifi? Galing mo naman.

Hi MS! I think the more expensive hotels charge for wifi, while the cheaper ones don't. Weird noh. I know that Holiday Inn Express hotels in the US, our cheap SFO hotel Adante and Da Vinci, PZ's and my hotel in New York don't charge for wifi.
