Am I Crazy or What?

My company just announced a "The Biggest Loser" competition of sorts. There will be competing teams of 10 members each and the team that registers the most weight loss in 80 days will be declared the winner. And guess who signed up for it?

I figured that to do it with a team would be fun because we will be able to help each other. But really challenging as well, I wouldn't want to be the one dragging the whole team down right?

So yes, I think I'm crazy to join, and even crazier to announce it to all of you, but by doing these, I am left with no other choice but to lose weight right? My goal is to lose at least 1 pound per 5 days because 16 pounds of the team goal has already been alloted to me. Hope all of you can help me by giving tips and cheering me on!

Hey Reg, that should be lots of fun! Our friend Shawn joined a similar contest with his company last year. Lost a ton of weight and has kept it off since.

I will be your biggest cheerleader! Just please lose weight the healthy way, with exercise (30 mins of cardio at least 3x/wk + weight training + ab work) and balanced meals (lots of protein, veggies and fruit; little to no "white carbs," including but not limited to white rice, white bread, potatoes, chips, or anything high in sugar).

Thanks D! The most difficult would be the no chips part. But I figured whatever I save from eating chips can go to a nice blouse in a smaller size!

Hi R,

Good luck on the competition! Maybe you can list your preferred meals, ie the healthy ones. I've started a list and it includes tinola, kamote tops salad, vegetable soup at night, etc. More importantly, I'm trying to limit eating out. It's good for the budget too.

Hi MNC! Thanks for the cheer=)
Hi Shiela! Ngeks, di naman ako ganun ka-ambisyosa! Tama na yung I lose enough to fit in my old jeans=) Don't worry you will still read about restos but the food could be a little different.. sabi ng nutritionist, no more fat daw!
Hi PZ! Thanks for the tips, yun nga lang I don't eat tinola. But I love sinigang. Am also thinking of Goolai's, Italianni's and Cyma's salads.

Of course we will be cheering you on! You have actually taken the most important and difficult step - deciding that you want to lose weight! The rest will be less difficult, like taking out chips and chocolates from your fridge. Basic rule is low fat, low sugar and low salt plus less calories than your regular intake. My doctor thinks I should lose about 10 pounds. Side contest tayo sa ten pounds na ito?

Hi Faye! Sige, give me all your tips na:-) To start with, I need help with a diet kasi otherwise I just eat what is convenient to buy. We can also go biking or walking in UP while our husbands are doing the daredevil biking in the mountains.

Hi Mom! Thanks for the tips. Hmm, kanino ko ba nakuha ang bad habit ko na munching on chips??? Sige, side contest, the winner gets a new blouse!

Hey R, go go go! How about biking even during weekdays - in your office compound after 5pm or before work (if you have a place to shower in your office)? If you can, will work out a sked so I can join you too! Need the exercise too. Have always been lethargic lately, and get tired easily.
